Official Opening Ceremony
of the
Academic Year 2007/2008

On Saturday 20th October at 11.00am the formal Opening Ceremony of the 2007/2008
academic year was held in the Teatro Comunale “Giuseppe Verdi” in Trieste. Many local and national
authorities attended, together with students and teachers from some local secondary schools.
The public very much enjoyed the celebratory event of the 25th anniversary of the foundation
of the College, which was held in the city of Trieste, in the presence of representatives of the
other 11 Colleges and of the International Board, which held its bi-annual meetings starting as of
the previous Thursday. Some forty representatives from the international movement took part in the
meetings in Duino, and then attended the ceremony on the Saturday.
25th Anniversary Special Postmark On the day of the Formal Opening Ceremony the Central Post Office in Trieste has provided a
special service at the Theatre with a 25th Anniversary postmark on all mail presented for despatch.
