"A world in Colours"

A cycle of Science Cafè, promoted by the AREA science Park and the ISAS (International School of Advanced Studies) is being held in Trieste at the Antico Caffè San Marco. This ideal location, the Cafè of Svevo, Voghera, Magris and several generations of students, has traditionally been a cultural meeting place. The first edition of the cycle comprised seven evenings, and they were very well received by the public, both in terms of the number of participants and of the positive reactions at the end of the events themselves. This success was the consequence of the structure adopted for these meetings - a mixture of topical scientific presentations done by researchers for the general public, literary and prose  pieces presented by professional actors and good music, under the artistic direction of Daniela Picoi and with the collaboration of the Casa della Musica.

The next Science Cafè will be held on 21st March. Its title is “A World in Colours”, wholly presented by the United World College of the Adriatic. This is the third evening of “science Cafè”, and initiative launched by the AREA Science Park and ISAS.
There will be a mixture of internationalism, science and culture towards peace, during which a group of students will read out poems in their own mother tongues. The music scholars will perform in the course of the evening: the Albanian pianist Redi Llupa, the Bolivian guitarist René Michel Valencia and the Mongolian cellist Amarmend Davaakhuu. Pictures and drawings by the students are already on display at the Caffè San Marco

Art: Project Week “Art of Madness”

Following this College’s Project Week, which a group of students spent working at the Duino-Aurisina Centre for Mental Health in late February-early March, on Thursday 23rd they met with some fellow students from the Psychopedagogic Institute of Brescia, who did this same service last week. This meeting prompted a discussion on this subject, as well as an exchange of views and experiences.
The idea is now to prepare a video from the recordings made during Project Week, which should testify to the work done.
