Seventh Edition of the "Hazel Marie Cole Award" to the College

The seventh edition of prize-giving ceremony of the "Hazel Marie Cole Award" (www.premiobonta.it) took place on Wednesday
27th September, in the Lecture Room of the United World College of the Adriatic.
Mrs. Doreen Powell spoke to the students about her husband's experience as Headmaster of two
schools on both sides of the Atlantic, at the presence of Dott. Aldo Pianciamore, husband of the
late Hazel Marie Cole.
The programme included a speech by Mr. Marc Abioux, Headmaster of the College and a brief
piano recital of two first year students: Inesa Gegprifti (Albania) and Valdoné Rakauskaité
(Lituania). Anne Brearley, a teacher from Great Britain, spoke about the "Third Year Option"
opportunity to do voluntary work abroad for an extra year.
Eight students were awarded the prize and a medal to commemorate the day. Four are first year
students: Lamira Ali Alisalem (Western Sahara), Sulaiman Nasseri (Afganistan), Fundi Nkambule
(Swaziland), Anri Rembeci (Albania) and four are from the second year: Amarmend Daavaakhuu
(Mongolia), Wojcieh Musial (Poland), Tribun Ferizaj (Kosovo), Braulio Dumba (Angola).
