International Summer School on
Climate change and the Water Cycle

Each United World College will establish a Local Selection Panel (LSP) that consists of 3
members: the rector, the director of studies and the Science department dean.
The LSP establishes a maximum of 5 finalists to submit to the International Selection Panel,
at least two of whom must represent the developing countries and East/Central Europe.
The LSP will evaluate the applications from January 21 – February 1 and
submit finalists’ applications to the International Panel by the 11th of February.
Criteria will include:
- Academic record.

Demonstration of commitment in environmental issues or climate change.

Leadership in community service activities.
- Recommendations letters from two referees.
- Interview.
The United World College of the Adriatic will establish a International Selection Panel (ISP)
that consists of 5 members: the rector, the two organizers of the Summer School and two scientist
teachers.
The ISP will evaluate the applications during the week of 18th of February.
Criteria: In addition to criteria used for the local selection particular attention will be
placed upon global distribution of participants’ nationalities.
